My life just changed..

I know its been a while since I posted anything to my blog.. Whats the point of having a blog if your not gonna post anything to it right? Well heres wasssup.

Its official. I just left eBay.com where I have been working for the past 3.5 years to pursue another opportunity.. I will join www.glam.com as their Lead Web 2.0 Developer. It was a long hard decision but It was a move I knew I had to make. Not only will it be a 20% pay increase (putting me in the 6 figure range :), but I will be using technologies that I am more familiar with and I'll be doing exactly what I want to be doing. There was no more career growth for me at eBay. I could have stayed there and made the same money doing the same job but what the point if your not motivated. I tried to go to another dept. within eBay but hatin ass HR told me that I wasnt qualified for any other positions.

I did make alot of accomplishments while at eBay. The one Im most proud of is the hubpages, seen when you click any one of the buttons on the top header. I built the build scripts that parse the HTML segments into well formed xml that can be read by the XSLT page. It is a drop in place script that works in any of our envt's, just give it the correct parameters and itll do its job.. It was the first time updates to segments of pages can be done with the daily rollouts instead of the bi-weekly code releases.
I also designed the Personalized headers that you see when you login.. Itll say welcome you have X many alerts. I designed the global html header template that that header uses.. I like this because its the most customer facing part of the site that I had some sayso as to how it worked/looked.
By no means is this a comprehensive list of my projects that Ive worked on but just my most favorite. There are also many things I did behind the scenes that arent customer facing that helped the company internally.

I am really looking forward to starting my next job.. I get the feeling I'll excel there as I always do. Its a smaller company so I wont have to deal with the politics and egos like at eBay.
I have nothing bad to say about eBay (in public, lol) it was a great experience and I learned alot.. But its time to move on to bigger and better things.
